The creation of the rings and their effects were fantastic and one looked forward to the finale.

The fireworks just get going and the BBC1 coverage cuts to pictures of past Olympic events.. Posted Image

Gnash, gnash!

Found one video here:-

Thanks for posting that link Malcolm, I'm glad I didn't stay up until the end as I would have been similarly disappointed with the Beeb. I wonder if anyone's got any HD footage of the whole display?? Great pyro, I do like the big "fronts" of large comets, shame the blue ones didn't have tails (like mine ;) )
Trying to do something very beautiful but very dangerous very safely....

Yes, I flicked back and forward though 3 hours of mind numbing tedium only to see the best bit cut with old footage that they could have shown anytime - another BBC triumph! - They used to be good once upon a time...

Thanks for link Malcolm, the fireworks looked great - was it Kimbolton?

The BBC control room producers/editors nowadays seem to have concentration issues - they never seem to stay on shot at the right moment or for long enough, also why was there no BBC broadcast footage of the fireworks from a ground level perspective?
Your right Phil, the beeb use to be a class outfit, but not anymore.

I have complained to the BBC abut them interupting the fireworks coverage,so frustrating, i would guess that a few other Pyro Enthusiasts have complained as well. I hope they show all of the Closing Finale, but i wont hold my Breath. I Have seen other footage, and it was a great show. Well done Kimbolton Fireworks.

Just revisited this thread after checking out the website frontpage and following the OOC page. Worth mentioning that Quantum Special Effects did the ring waterfall, and not Kimbolton as implied. Kimbolton did of course do a lovely job on the stadium and outdoor stuff.

The BBC cut to the video during the rehearsal and it was mentioned to them it was not a good idea. So not a mistake of a technical error!! grrrr

I complained to the BBC at the timeand recived a "Standard Boilerplate Fob Off" about the whole show being directed by Danny Boyle and they weren't responsible for any aspect of it. They merely recieved the same feed as everyone else from the Olympic Broadcasting Organisation. (Which aparently was a seperate organisation.)
