i need a bit of help identifying the base emmiter and collector of the

attached circuit for 3 x 8 amp darlington amps npn je800

i think an equivalent is 2n6044 ?

 

also, any place in the uk to do one offs on pcbs if i provide the circuit.

its relatively simply just using a 555 timer and a lm4017 decade counter with a few resistors, few caps and leds and  switch

 

my brain is getting too old for a vero board approach

 

any help anyone?

That's just 3 transistors in parallel, a Darlington has a minimum of two in series.

Been trying to include a diagram, but failing badly.

my mistake, yes, i only drew 3 instead of 4

whats confusing me is the arrow is pointing in a different direction on your pic ?

 

if you look at my pdf perhaps you could say which is which by using

 

left side =

right side =

arrow =

Dave, on your sketch, base would be at bottom -ve), E Emitter on left and C Collector on right.
Even with a fourth IC I can't see how your circuit can work as a Darlington because all bases are connected together. Unless you are looking at one transistor supplying all three bases but then there is really no need.

Just put the type numbers into google, there are datasheets for both of them free to view or download with pinouts for various packages. Though the device is called a power transistor it is really a darlington and pnp and NPN versions are available.

 

I'm assuming that your drawing is of three of these PNP darlingtons abrieviated as a PNP transistor

Arthur, JE800 is most likely MJE800 Its A 4amp silicon NPN darlington transistor and diode. European equivs are BD677,BD777,or 2N6038,9 etc

 

Pin 1 Emitter

Pin 2 Collector 1/2

Pin 3 Base 1

 

Collector on case

Seaarch your favoured supplier for 8A Darlington then. CPC certainly have several so RS, Rapid etc will have some and Maplin may have.
