In Topic: Fuse Manufacturer

It won't help but I have visited the place and we did some trade with the company. A beautiful factory and very well run. Quite incredible watching the fuse being made. The machines were all made in-house and are a credit to the proprietors, you could eat your dinner off the floor. How sad - another British invention no longer made here. Martin and Martins are an excellent company though. A word of warning though - despite the excellent work practices here and wealth of experience and professionalism the company sufferred a terrible, fatal accident in the course of Blackpowder manufacture a few years back, after my visit. I know I will come across as a bit austere but these incidents serve as a reminder of the nature of the materials we are discussing.

Perhaps if you could tell me where the factory was I might be able to search for it on the web.

Thanks

Ron Lancaster at Kimbolton seems to back them up, and yet his company uses fibreglass. Perhaps the cheapness and avalibality of fibreglass has swayed their decisions ?
