I am thinking of getting the Hayleys Comet cake to. Anyone know if its any good?

I have the Cosmos it seems ok.

I had the Hayleys Comet last year, and have got it this year too.
The description on the back is:

25 shot cake ejecting 25 silver comet tail to a king crackle burst and silver comet tail to a silver strobe burst.
the tubes are 30mm. it feels really heavy too.
i cant remember exactly what it did last year, but it was good. nice bursts. quite loud too.
however comparing it to the cosmos cake, (bearing in mind size and price), i think cosmos is better to be honest.
hayleys comet is good though, i would recommend it.

I've taken apart the 100 shot candle, it is basically ten 6mm candles with fuses tied together at the top; there is a central tube which is about 1/2" which is empty. I've only lit off 2 individual candles and I can say that they worked quite well, seeing all 10 together would be quite good- expecially for a cheap box as the Firepack.

I wanted to buy 2 boxes of the Firepack but only brought along a spare tenner that day, can't just buy fireworks and no weekly shopping.

why not? :D

My review of there cakes:-

  • Hayleys Comet is very good with nice big breaks.
  • Cosmos is pretty good nice breaks.
  • Rainbow Storm its one of those cakes filled with air the middle of the cake is empty with the outer with small bore tubes shoots comets and whistles

rainbow storm is a lot smaller this year, so the gap in the middle is small too. the tubes are still same size.
