I've never heard anything about that. I suggest you contact the venue and ask precisely what piece of paper it is they want to see.

Thanks Richard. I owe you one!! xx

What do you or they mean by 'pyrotechnic license'? Really there is no such thing. If you are using Category 4 fireworks then you need appropriate storage and insurance, but most theatrical effects etc are classified as 'Articles, Pyrotechnic'.

Are you sure the venue does not just require your liability insurance or similar?

Hiya. We have Public Liability Insurance but apparently we need a licence to use fire in our shows. Can u advise me pleae? Thanks again. xx

Who requires it? Is there something special about the way you ignite or manipulate fire that requires you to have a pyrotechnic licence?

We'll be doing a show with people watching behind a wire fence. The motorbike will be wheelying through the fire etc...usually, we just carefully tip a small amount out of a gerry can but this time it's a major show and we need this licence ASAP. We've been stunting for years and 99% of the time, used fire. but never needed a licence before. The flames will not be anywhere near the public and will only last a few moments. Thanks for the help!!
