Looks cool - unfortunately I've never seen road flares on sale in the uk.
But I'm going to hit google and start looking anyway as they might just be a useful source of cheap simple fountains.
Fountains that burn for longer than 5 seconds seem to be in short supply in my local fireworks shop (but he can sell me a load of nice roman candles that fire stars out - though I think my fellow performers and audience may get a bit upset if I used them !)

i found somewhhare that sells red road flares for 15m long ones there £7 google xtremesurvival.co.uk or something like that. although thwere 15m long you can always put themout and thenmake a igniction comp to light themaggain, as par as iknow there strontium nitrate / woot chippings / sulphur

now, i know where not talking abbout it right now, but its sfx i made this small device, on HFM pyrotechnics (im not shure if anyone has herd of it, but its good for all that sorta stuff) they cost like £28.36 for a small "eletric explosion simulator" but i made one real easy. i just used pot perc, fine MgAl and slightly rougher MgAl (and obs used the diper method to mix) and i mixed it something like 3g pot perc and 6g MgAl or something like that... and if you put it in a small tube(with no nozzle, just some tissue paper to stop it comming out and useing a visco fuse) , you get a verry pleasing eletric explosion sfx rig, or you could use them for the beggining / end of a pyro show. alternatley you could just make one (better for larger ones, to make safer) like you would make a cremora but substute your coffee cremer/charcole or whatever with a bit of metal powder (like MgAl)

hope this helped :)

Whilst deploring the incident, I can't agree with all this age stuff.

When you are 18, you can have a job, own a house, own a car, get married, have children & run a business - all at the same time if you like! and you are telling me you should not be able to buy fireworks?

It's about responsibility. You can be responsible when you are 10 and a complete nutter when you are are 90.

The punishment should fit the crime, but don't punish all 18 year olds for the crimes of the few. That way lies 'no fireworks for the general public - they are too dangerous'.

yea, i aggree now i see it from a different perspective - thank you
