sulpher makes flash powder more powerful too.

I thought Sulphur made flash powder more sensitive. I had always beleived that the most powerful flash powder was made with perc / V.fine aluminium powder.

In Topic: Falling Leaves Shells

I've just tried some tests of falling leaves. The best results I had were with iron filling fountain composition, which had been ball milled for 1/2 an hour without the iron.

24 KNO3
4 S
4 C
10 Iron Fillings

I took a square of paper 4 inch square, then used pritt stick to cover the entire surface of one side of the paper. Then from the center on the paper covered 3 inches towards one of the edges. I then folded the paper in half, leaving a 1 inch band of of paper stuck together and 3 inches of comp. I then primed both of the open edges with bp.

I hope this makes sense. The results were promising anyway, I couldn't test this in a shell because i'm not in a location suitable for firing shells at the moment. But when the leaves were dropped from my shed roof towards the ground they left a small trail of sparks and glowed quite brightly.

Ah, now I thought it'd either be something like that or involve them being attacked by popular actress, Sue Pollard.

Well your definition of popular actress is different from mine, i would have gone with eric pollard of Emerdale chopping down the trees to sell in some kind of crazy scheme. If of course i didn't know the real meaning
