Sure, the Mg blocks with knife can be expensive.

Here's the CHEAPEST supplier I've found.

wow that is expensive... round here its £3 for a mg steal block.. and £5 for a solid steal... as i train with the raf i would like to share a little knolage with you... if u take an ordenary cotton wool ball/tampon.. yes a tampon open it up and use even the cheapest steal in the world.. one spark will ignite it and u have instant inence fire... also if u take an empty shoe polish tin.. cut some cardboard and roll it round the inside untill u have a spirall all the way round.. then melt a candel all over till u cnt fit any more wax in..now u have a water proof fire tin which can be used many a time
but by far the best is a bit of "potash" and sugar mixe together and drag a knife across it.. works a treat
