realistically, whats the chances it going wrong........

Read, read, and read more. If you search the forums there are lots of posts about flash, and many safety issues are covered.
For example, small amounts of static electricity can easily ignite flash, and 5g of flash can do serious injury, even without being contained.

search the forums for links to flash injury pictures, they aren't pretty.

Don't want to put you off pyro, its a great hobby, just using flash!

Just in case you haven't done anything about it, if you just added the rocket on, it would be very nose heavy. If this is the case, it might account for the short flight/long burn time discrepancy.
I'm not trying to be patronising, I've just seen people miss very obvious things before :(

Yesterday i made tt composition and when i finished the milling i try to test an ammount of TT but it didn't burn easily..it was very difficult to burn the ammount and i supposed that kno3 has got problem...
I try to burn few gramms of kno3 with the lighter but nothing happened,kno3 starting to melt..not to burn

kno3 shouldn't burn, if it did it would be seriously contaminated. Make stars from the mix that doesn't seem to work like skyburst suggests and it should be fine.
good luck!

I would imagine each Bengal has the composition pressed in one end, an empty airspace in the middle of the tube and a plastic or wooden bung in the other end, so the centre portion of the tube is hollow. They probably float on their side. Once the composition is lit, such as a red Mg composition it's going to burn even underwater.

I would think the tubes may be wax coated card. You could coat the outside of the tube with candle wax after it is made.

If the burning end was held underwater, a different effect might be achieved... but be careful before putting any fireworks into a water body - they aren't good for wildlife! (lots of (mild?) toxins and fertilisers - eutrophication anyone?)

Off topic, I saw some really beautiful water shells in Japan; golden palm and must have been 12/15" - they were huge!
