Over 3 days, its billed as one of the biggest displays in Europe. There will be 40 Hanabi shells up to 24", reaching a height of nearly 1km, and with a break radius of up to 500m!! Personally, ive never seen anything that big before, so im looking forward to going, if I can manage it.

Malta International Fireworks Convention 2008

15 September 2007 - 02:59 PM

Hi Guys, i just received this email from the guys in Malta, and thought it would be a good idea to post it here for all of you to read. As has been mentioned here before, it is a great spectacle, and well worth a visit. I went last year, and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are planning on going, book early, otherwise you wont find a hotel nearby for love nor money during that week!
Any further details i receive will be posted here...........

Maltafireworks together with Leon Promotions will be organising for the first time the Malta International Fireworks Convention.

The 1st Malta International Fireworks Convention will be held between the 25th and 30th April 2008. The Convention will be held during the Malta International Fireworks Festival – A Pyro Musical Competition at the Malta Grand Harbour with the participation of various Maltese and International Fireworks Companies.

Various international fireworks companies will be taking part in this event and will be exhibiting and promoting their products and services.

The Trade Show exhibits will be located a few metres away from the VIP Area of the Malta International Fireworks Festival, i.e. Valletta. There will be also various presentations and discussions related to Pyrotechnics. Booths can be booked and exhibitors will be responsible for their own signage.

Those interested to take part in the convention kindly contact us immediately as booths will be allocated on a first come basis. Also exhibitors are invited to display a demo of their products during the nights of the fireworks festival. A barge will be specifically allocated for these demo displays.

Interested authors and speakers are invited to contact us and discuss the topics they would like to present. The following topics are invited:

Safety
Traditional Maltese fireworks
The History of Fireworks
Choreography
Computer firing systems
Manufacturing of fireworks
Special effects
Regulations and standards
Other topics are mostly welcome

All those participating in this convention will be given VIP treatment during the fireworks competition. Everyone around the world knows that Maltese fireworks are unique…… So, the organisers have planned a Maltese fireworks factories tour for all those participating in this convention. This tour will be lead by the Secretary of the Malta Pyrothecnic Association.

More details will follow in due course.

Kindly contact us on the following email: info@maltafireworks.com or visit the website: http://www.maltafire...convention.html

Coloured Flash Comps.

06 September 2007 - 02:07 PM

Hi guys, anyone have any tried and tested coloured flash comps?

Ive searched a fair few data bases, and have quite a few formulas, but due to a very busy workload, havent got the time to test them all.

The only ones ive tested so far are Mg+BaNO3 (50:50) and Mg+SrNO3 (50:50). Powerful comps, but the colour is very weak. Ive tried adding a little parlon, this does improve the colour, but slows the reaction down too much.

Ive also tried KClO4 (6) BaNO3 (4) Al (3) but again the colour is very weak.

Any help would be appreciatd

cheers

Anyone good with PC's?

10 February 2007 - 11:03 AM

Hi guys, anyone here good with PC's? Im sure we must have some bods here :D Im in the process of replacing my PC. I thought i'd wait until Vista is released before i take the plunge, and now the time has come. My problem - which processor? - I have a choice of two, these are

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86Ghz 1066Mhz FSB, 2mb cache OR

AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core 4200+

Im not a processor snob, so im happy to go with the AMD if it performs better. Ive read up about these 2 processors, but im none the wiser. Which is best/fastest? any advise is welcome. Thanks
