Hello,

I have been working on professional firework displays since 2011, I am looking to expand more into pyrotechnics and special effects. If you have any opportunities I would love to hear from you.

I am also a professional fire performer, I specialise in fire poi spinning, fire eating and body burning and shall soon be training in fire whips.

Can anyone give me advice on which companies I might be able to talk into giving me a job? Or even better anyone on here that can take me on? I have done the just fx stage pyro course but not yet had any hands on experience and this is an area I really want to get into (I am willing to do it for free while I gain the experience)

I have contacted as many companies as I have been able to find but no luck so far so any help would be gratefully appreciated, thanks

Needing work experience/contacts etc please!

I now have some experience as well as my Illuminate Cat4, and Just FX stage pyro certificates. I am a member of the ASP where there are further details of what I have done on my page. I am looking for people who can offer me more experience in the industry or people who have contacts they can give me, I have been emailing all the companies I come across on google etc so if you can help me beyond that I would be very grateful

(And sorry but I have already promised myself out over the bonfire night period)

I've recently been watching a program called pyros, it is on the discovery channel but I have been watching it on youtube, here is the link to the one I am about to watch -

Hello,

Just a couple of questions,

I've recently done the Illuminate course via Highlight, is there any point doing the BPA course? Is it the same thing, will I learn anything new, will employers be more impressed if I have both?

Also I am going to do one of the stage pyro courses on ASP, any feedback on if any of the companies are better/worse than the others? Or will I gain more contacts through certain ones? I was going to do it with backstage academy as this is the closest and the soonest, but it clashes with the date highlight are doing the southport championships which I could go and help on.... so do you think I should do it with another company?

Are there any other courses you can recommend?

Waterproofing fireproof overalls

Hi,

Just wondering what everyone does to keep from getting set on fire and stay dry, I just got some flame proof overalls and was wondering if I could spray them with waterproofing spray or would this effect the fireproofing? If I put waterproofs under the overalls it would restrict movement a fair bit so don't really want to do that and obviously water over fireproof will just be pointless.

Not the most pressing issue in the world but thanks for any tips
