I would say that PIC fuse is too fast for shells, maybe try blackmatch but with extra charcoal to slow the burn rate down?.

That's an idea.
I'll try it.

But still i think visco safety fuse would still be the best option.
So if anyone knows where to get it.
Please do not hasitate to share it with the public

Thanx

As you will see in other places within the forum, visco is available... with the right documentation and reasons for having it. A few pieces do appear for sale every so often on the web but for astronomical prices.
Some members have been very successful at makeing there own fuse even though it is an art in itself.

For round shells try do it yourself X-mas bulbs. They are not very expensive and not as thick walled as commercial shell halves.
They?re a bit sturdy (made of acryl) and give a great break.

I posted a picture in 1 oder 2 threads before!

I Tried your idea Paul.

I Made a mortar and used a 40 mm X-mas bulb for my shell.

Now i'm gonna test it on Saturday or Sunday.

Just 1 question.

Did you ever try this x-mas bulb stuff.

Yes I have, and several times.

Great products at great prices and friendly service.
If u order from them don't buy the 2''shells if you are going to shoot them from a 2'' mortar, they won't fit.
I've got 40+ 2'' mortartubes and the shells don't fit how frustrating is that?
Of course you can make custom mortars or use them as rocketheaders.

Yes, they should fit perfectly in a 55mm I.D. tube.
Read some posts, you will figure out where I live.

And yes they do ship international, shippingcosts are high so I suggest you make a big order or a group order.
