i take it magnaluim thermite would work?
(with iron oxide or copper oxide/sulphate), just cos i can mill my mgal very fine, and aluminium is hard.

I find that making thermite with a very fine iron oxide and fine atomized aluminum make a mix that can be set off with a torch, mix that with cheaper coarser thermite makes that easer to light and has a slower burn.
For the main iron oxide I lucked out, while in northren michigan I found a lot of Specular Hematite, it's natualy accuring Fe203. I literaly have about 500 pounds of it now.
Another cheap option is to take a magnet, place it into a plastic bag and goto your local beach and drag the magnet though the beach sand/dirt, iron ore/magnatite should stick to it in quanity to be worth the effort. I belive that should work on your guys side of the pond.
