I used to live very close to the Mills and they are well worth a visit they have an amazing canal system that was used to carry the powder round, so it covered two of my passions.

I have an artical from The Strand magazine from the earlier part of the century which I will scan and post up which will give you loads of pre visit info. The main part of the plant has now been turned into a hugh Sainsbury's Distribution centre.

You can also see the ponds that they tested the bouncing b**b on as well :-)

No problem mate....you may notice some bits are now blanked out that is because another site got the wind up  and they are hosted on my server couldn't be bothered making two versions....but most people here know what has been removed, better safe than sorry in this on-line world of pitfalls, suufice to say the cotton is mixed with Nitro-glycerine lol.

You seem to me missing the last two pages as well....

I'm certainly interested, I've been meaning to visit the mills for ages (we used to have an office near them but never got round to it :-( ) Obviously without an exact date I can't be 100% (I'm in Dublin around the 23rd) But will make it if I'm free.
If it looks like it's coming towards you, it probably is!

Would love to visit the mills. Is it open to everyone for this trip?

Hoping to announce dates ASAP, pending a society meeting. Anyone who wants to go may come along. Also expect other exciting news in the near future ;)
