Hi guys,

there is this website in Germany where you can buy pyro products (some of them only with permissions). It is called www.egun.de
My friend always buys stuff there but unfortunately, I live in the UK now.

So are there any auction places like egun.de where you can buy/sell pyro products in the UK, or Europe?
I dont wanna know any shops because they usually demand 5 times the normal price.

Id be happy about every link.

Cheers,
JD

Sorry JD. The sad fact that all Cat 3 items are sold at a high premium becuase they are sessional products. Cat 4 products are cheaper - however - you have a be in the pyro business to obtain them legaly. Some vendors give discounts for Society memebers - such as SP fireworks - but you will have to join the society to obtain those discounts. We will probably have more vendors offring discounts for society members later this year.

I think several of us would be happy to have a good link to cheap legal fireworks. Ebay specifically bans fireworks from sale, including components. Chemicals can sometimes be found on ebay but some are at silly prices, and some are dubiously legal by their nature or transport.

In short, there isn't a reliable and cheap place for buying pyro in the UK.

When you say "pyro products" I am assuming you mean consumer fireworks.

It doesn't exist.

For a business to sell and stock fireworks in the UK they need licenses, comprehensive insurance cover, they need to register with local fire authorities. The transportation of fireworks is also strictly controlled, and subject to high costs. Its not simply the case that you can put them in the mail.

If you do find anyone selling fireworks on auction sites they are almost certainly importing/stocking and selling them illegally.

Don't trade with them under any circumstances. There is no guarantee of safety or reliablity with these products, and you may well be breaking the law.

In short, there isn't a reliable and cheap place for buying pyro in the UK.

Well, I guess the word "cheap" is subjective, but it is certainly possible to get some very attractive discounts. If you contact ( e mail or telephone ) a fireworks shop offering mail order, simply request that they offer you a discount. If they so "no" or the discount is unattractive, then simply move on to another shop.

Three good business that may well be happy to offer you a discount ( across the entire range) are The Firework Factory (Lancaster, not the Blackpool seasonal, or the Bright Star seasonal) , Epic Fireworks (Batley) , and Spyrotechnics (Chesterfield).

All three of those have done me great deals in the past, and its qualtity, safe and reliable stuff, too.

There may well be others too, but from experience those are the three I would recommend.

yes, thats what im looking for!

i once sold visco fuse on ebayUK and it was fine but i guess someone reported me and it got deleted twice
then i tried to sell it on ebayCH and ebaygermany (according to their terms, class 1, the lowest class, is legal to sell) but they deleted my visco fuse too (for no reason, i guess they cant read their own terms and conditions).
so my collegue started selling on egun.com but unfortunately we are limited to german customers.

well, it is not illegal to sell them on egun.de (while the german ebay site deletes everything for no reason...), so why not in the UK if our pyro products are allowed there.

so there is no auction house, selling place online where me and my friends can offer our pyro products? (legal and only to those that have permission)

No there is no auction house that would let you sell your own fireworks.

The transport and age verification problems would likely make it unfeasible.

No, I don't think so.

As mentioned above, in order to sell "pyro products" in the uk the business requires a strictly controlled licence, as well as proper storage facilities (approved and inspected.) To deliver the products a licenced (typically specialist) courier company is needed.

Its not simply the case that individuals can trade pyrotechnics in the same way you might sell old Buffy the vampire slayer Videos.

You mean Category 1? Indoor fireworks? In which case, this doesn't apply to Visco. Fuse isn't an indoor firework.

No, its T1 i believe. thats what it says on the packaging from the manufacturer.

and yet, there are quite some people who were successful at selling hundreds of meters of visco on ebay-germany and ebay-switzerland.

Until the full (!) implementation of the European Pyrotechnic Directive there will be some anomalies in the various laws governing pyro and the finer points of device classification in various countries. What is acceptable in some countries may not be here. Please be cautious until you understand the UK system of pyro control and the transport regulations.

The shipping is a complete stopper for any such pyro auction site. Any pyrotechnic items worthy of note will require an ADR carrier for shipping, there's only 2 that I know of in the UK that take pyro, they have a minimum charge of about £18 per drop and will only let you open an account if you are a business that guarantees a certain amount of trade per month.
