Here is a link to a forum post[/url] Apparantly a fireworks importer/distributor have gone into administration.

Firstly, at the moment I have seen no confirmation of this, so possible just rumour. But my friend who told me isn't the sort of person who would make this up. I'm not sure if she read this on a Chinese (she speaks Chinese) or English forum, or if she was told directly - I'm waiting to hear back from her.

But unfortunatly , given the times, it does sound possible.

Edit- removed direct reference to the company.

Certainly it's a subject that needs official confirmation before the rumour mill kills the firm. However nothing would surprise me -even big names are tumbling (think Woolworths ).

Yeah, link is worng, probably something I did wrong cut and pasting . My friend got in touch with me "Do I know about cosmic," then later she got back to me "here is a link." I'll try to get another link.

Editted to remove any direct reference to the company, as this remains unconfirmed (although almost certainly true.)

I spoke to someone on Friday who was in the trade and still has lots of reliable contacts. He asked me if I'd heard about Cosmic going down the pan? So I guess it's true. He said his source was extremely reliable.

edited: - There is a publication that contains public announcements regarding companies entering administration, there have been two fireworks companies in the past month or so that have featured in that publication.

I guess that means its no longer a rumour :(

But we shall wait and see what happens.

Years ago a cleaning firm went into administartion "Garstang Cleaning Services". A few days later a brand new firm opened up- in the same offices- Garstang Cleaning Specialists.....

The companies house www is 100% reliable as it is the official site of the UK company registration authority. It closes for update daily but isn't searchable by trade, only by company name.

It's a normal happening for companies to come and go, and especially in times of financial stress the rate will be higher.

What is important is that a forum like this does not precipitate companies going down by inaccurate rumour.

I actually wasn't referring to Companies House website, I was refering to a publication that holds all the notices of companies entering into administration and there are two large firework wholesalers who have appeared in that publication in the past few months :(

Well I have spoke with Cosmic on Tuesday this week as I received a phone call from one of the reps who I deal with on Thursday before Easter, saying that they had gone into administration that morning and all had shut up. However, I phoned them on Tuesday this week and spoke with one of the owners, he confirmed they have gone into administration however a new company is up and running and to give him a call next Monday, and running as normal with all the same lines.

So good news they are still trading and most peoples jobs are kept. :)
