One of the interesting things we could do is get a DGSA to discus for us How to transport explosives while staying below the scope of ADR while remaining legally compliant.

With a bit of luck I will be a DGSA in the not to distant future.
Phew that was close.

Digger ; Does the DGSA training qualification allow you to teach/organise/run a ADR course & qualification on your own?

Also, what preliminary qualifications does one need to do a DGSA course?

Here are some training providers around the UK;- http://www.labeline....sa_trainers.php

If you guys don't already know about it, the entire ADR regulations are available free at:
http://www.unece.org...9ContentsE.html

Also, I know this is a little off topic, but if anyone needs advice on shipping / transporting hazardous goods internationally by air, I have purchased the 2010 IATA dangerous goods regulations and can provide advice if required via PM or email.

Will have to check how long I have left on my licence when I find it. It has been a rather under used item.

Phew that was close.

I slightly regret only doing core and explosives.

I don't know the details but I would rather have spent a few more quid and another half a day or whatever to get packages and a few classes on the licence as well.

I've only used it once in anger but it's interesting(ish) and possibly handy.

How much is the course? It's probably not something I'd use but I'd still be interested in the experience and knowledge. I presume it would also be a good foundation for making decisions about future pyro related business projects.

Looking at what some of the bigger companies have been charging I would guess between £160 and £200 if we can get a decent number of people: I guess 10 is a minimum.

Any more word on if there will be a course running this year? I may be interested if it isn't too much of a mission to get to :)

No movement on this yet from my end I'm afraid, it needs a decent number of folk to make it financially viable. If you need to do it independently, Transchem at Warrington or Lancaster training at Heysham are likely the nearest for you.
