ok these are my faves but other people liked different stuff.

I loved tivoli god thats good but other stuff that stood out
Starring lovely big breaks on a £8 cake!
Siren call (wow the 3 stage whistle comets get to some height!)
Shockwave was very nice
VE day was a very pleasant surprise the dvd does not do it justice.
Chimera is stunning lovely glitter
I was surprised how good iron man is for cat 2
and Fanfare what a bargain!

Everything nice and loud! and all 1.4g

Hope you can get to one of the other firings.

So, are you a Brothers Rep?

I do think if you are going to make promotional posts on behalf of a specific brand, then you should make your relationship to that brand clear.

For sure, I know your comments will be honest opinions, but never the less claims such as "Everything nice and loud" seem pretty overtly promotional.

No problem, as such, but I do think one of the advantages of this board is that it has (generally) remained objective. Pyrosociety does have an advertising scheme now, too.

I'd hope that this board didn't turn into just another promotional board, where people come on just to say "Buy our stuff, it's ace..."

To add- Your post, to be fair, wasn't much of an issue, but the conern is that this is the start of a slipperly slope. In tough trading times, all businesses will want to plug their stuff, but I do think it's best done in an open and unambigious way- in this case, through the advertising system is perhaps best. Otherwise there might be the issue of the "man on the street" who joins up "just to let us know how AMAZING the stuff he bought from Wazzos fireworks was..." (Who of course is really a staff member from Wazzos)

OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is. ;)

for christ sake someone asks me what I liked so I told them wheres the promotion in that? I also said other people liked other things. Please delete my message if you think its promotional because it wasnt! it was a personal opinion. Perhaps I should have replied to Mark directly.

I will go back to being a read only member.

No need to get abusive- but it is best, I think, if you make your relationship to the brand clear.

"What a bargain" "Everything nice and loud" etc, and the general tone does sound a little like your are "pushing" the brand.

It's better, I'd say, to be a bit more objective.

I was only giving my angle, I can't delete threads.

As I say, I don't think your post was much of an issue in itself, BUT I do think that this is something that could snowball a bit (not just with your brand, of course.) There was someone who came on recently overtly promoting Dancing Red Devil, that was much more blatant!

No real issue I just think that if you took a minute to read what you have typed you could avoid a) alienating knowledgeable forum members B) having to edit most of your posts

Fair comment then!

Regarding alienating forum members, that is not my intention, of course. I know that cpfireworks is a nice guy, and a genuine enthusiast (as indeed are many reps and shopkeepers.) But as I say I do feel that it is much better if people make their relationship to a particular brand clear- or indeed, choose to support the advertising scheme.

Guys, I'm going to call time on this one, I don't want the forum to descend into petty squabbling. Everyone knows the rules concerning advertising. I don't have a problem with people posting personal opinions, after all we all have them!

If any of you wish to contact me, feel free to do so.

Thats cool, and a good decision to wrap it up. I've said the same thing when other people have posted making direct reference to a particular shop Last post on page 2 here . It wasn't intended as a person attack, and I apologise if it was taken as such.

I think we've got all those on the list this year, will have to check my quantities. I think VE day will be a good seller. Very busy cake with multi breaks.
Regards.

For me Tivoli stole the show but then again I knew it would lol.

Only Brothers could produce a 16 shot cake that lasts nearly a minute and still look good......

Mind you, I would make the most of their stuff while you can because I can't personally see them retaining a UK presence in the longer term. I wouldn't be at all surprised if, in the not too distant future, the brand returns back to being available through third party importers only.

(Now before anyone gets all agitated, this is nothing more than personal conjecture).

interesting observation, is that based on anything inparticular (again no personal interest, other than we will be stocking half a dozen of their lines this year)
