What comp are you using in 1lb motors ?

I use 13/7/2 with 5% #40 to dust charcoal added after milling.

I also granulate with no dextrin, makes it cleaner when ramming !

My fast 1lb rocket fuel is,

pot nitrate 60 (milled)
pine charcoal 12.5 (80 mesh)
willow charcoal 7.5 (80 mesh)
willow airfloat 10g
sulfur 10g
screened 4,5 times and used as it is without granulating.
I use fine bentonite clay for the nozzle, hand rammed as i think you can get a better feel when its right.
These are then pressed to 1.5 metric tons.

I have in the past used all willow but these are very much on the edge, but do they ever go!

The overall thickness of the stick will be 3/8ths of a inch or the equivalent in mm.

I use 36 inch by 1/4 inch square with my 3/4 inch rockets, just because I happen to have some. The lightweight stick moves the balance point a bit forward, but they always fly dead straight. A fast takeoff helps with that.
