excuse my ignorance but does the thinner (PL6) burn at a different speed than the PL10?

Seeing as my supply of premade delays has run out and there are no more to be had, I need an alternative, I was thinking more like this....

Time Fuse

all the same speed 110 seconds per meter

I have a big pile of boxes of delay chains if you are interested
Phew that was close.

Hi Phill,

If the PL10 is used for shells and delays what are the smaller sizes used for?

Does it come with the heat shrink tube & clip tool also?

Cheers,

Gavin

there all used as time fuse for any situation really, plasticos gamon make a lot of their shells to push fit PL10 which is why I origionally bought it, PL6 is as good as the same diameter as chinese so its why everyione likes that too. PL10 is so large it takes fire very easilly when just straight cut and used without prep like in the video.

Now I know what that red fuse was that I inherited a few years ago - have about a 10 meter coil of the stuff in my store. Guessing it must be PL10 from the size of it - but it's Red/Pink!

well usually the PL5 6 and 8 is in red and the PL10 is blue, they do make PL10 in other colours thouigh by special order and must make it for the time delays they also sell as its made from PL10

Is the PL6 a straight replacement for cross matched Chinese time fuse used in paper hemis or does it have to be used in Gamon shells? Does it need to be cross matched or primed? I suppose I'm really asking how is it used compared to Chinese.

Thanks

PL6 can indeed be used as a direct replacement for chinese time fuse (1/4" = 6mm as good as)

I cant quote whether it needs crossmatching though as ive only ever used it as a side cut length for shell timing, I do cross cut it which I dont bother doing with the PL10 though and its lit fine when I have.

You can cross match it if you want though.

Plasticos gamon have designed a lot of their shells to take the PL10 as a tight fit simply to make life easier using them, Monetti is time fuse on its own, Gamon just hapen to use it and have designed shells with fuse holes to suit.

Just an update to those who went in on the order, we are curently waiting for our paperwork back and will then be continuing, I was lead to believe an avareage of 2 weeks which it is now but have been advised it can be longer without reason.

I will update any new news as I get it.
