In Topic: What does the society need to keep going?

08 January 2020 - 09:08 PM

Indeed as has been posted here Im simply ascing as caretaker for the time being to stop the society ceasing to exist by default, I file papers and accounts to CH along with the registration each year but that's it, I don't own the society in any way but deemed this the best way to help it and to prevent the sad misuse and attempted misuse of its name and funds that had occurred previously.

As the sole person though I decided that id simply not take any actions as to ensure that i was seen as neutral or any decisions that would ever have to be made would be publicly posted and checked for clarity before taking place.

I WELCOME any genuine people interested in assisting or contributing to the society to contact me please.

I'm technically acting chairman at the moment though there is no committee whatsoever, we have no secretary nor accountant, we also have no membership secretary or current members (I cant in all honesty continue taking funds from people for a society that's simply ticking over) so I'm not sure how we can legitimately do whats been spoken of however I see no need to, if we have suitable people wishing to start acting let them and take things from there, I'm more than happy to hand over the reigns to any one or group of people once they've established a plan and shown it can work.

David I assure you my efforts with the society are in no way commercial, the money made from the cooperman435 site is not even worth the hosting fees but I keep it there for the same reasons you cite, enabling the hobby.

Please please remember that we’re it not for the society’s (Wayne’s) work with the HO we would have no ability to legally experiment whatsoever. Surely in anyone’s book this and our interests being included in the EPP licensing scheme have to be valid credit for the society’s efforts. No manner of access to materials or information would have any purpose if we simply couldn’t practice the craft?

Coming from someone that has relentlessly attacked the society and every effort it has made to help the community I find this quite hypocritical!

The society has on countless occasions spent great time and effort ensuring as best it can that our hobby was able to continue. It has in fact done exactly that and a lot more when the ER14 regs were being drafted along with the EPP scheme by including our activities within those processes that otherwise would have abolished any activity completely.

I personally am making sure the society doesn’t fall foul of failure to provide legal documents as and when it must.

The society asked nothing more than support in this effort and from certain people recieved nothing other than unsubstantuated damaging abuse. It should therefore be no surprise to you that it has fallen.

It’s still here, it will continue to be here and if people wish to contribute and work together to use their combined effort to gain something it would offer its support.

I will point out immediately that this reply is civil and factual. It is not abusive in any way as per our rigourusly enforced policy demands. Please if replying can all comments abide by the community rules too as to allow discussion and comments to be left public.
