I've heard you should use a 1/4 of the total weight of the stars for lift. I can’t remember where this came from though; it seems to work fine for me and Starseeker anyway. It depends what effect you’re after as well. You may want to use a stubby mortar and less lift to get a "spray" of stars or a conventional mortar and 1/4 lift to get a narrower column of stars that droop at the apex.

There's a conversion table Here, I don't know how accurate it is though.

The "free gloves included" made me laugh, you need them! We used tin snips which made light work of the strapping loops and joining wires, unfortunately not a common tool in most households. A pair of pliers would do but you would be there a while.
I forgot to mention, there was a heavy glass fibre weave in the boxes as well, don't have a clue what it was for. Maybe another containment method? Or a makeshift fire blanket?

I contacted Nitroparis last year enquiring about a bag of kperc, they were very helpful. I wasn't asked about a business address or tax id, I was enquiring about 25kg so may have sounded more ligit than a person wanting 5kg? How much were you looking to buy?
It turned out that I didn't order in the end as Steve from Inoxia gave me a better deal on a sack so it worked out cheaper than shipping it from Nitroparis.

The packaging stuff I've seen is thick woven mesh with ~10mm holes, makes good star sizing screens ;)
Is this pyromesh? We had rockets and cakes delivered in it last year, each crate of rockets consisted of I think 6 individual boxes containing maybe 4 rockets each, these smaller boxes were individually meshed. It was as a pita to get off, cut your hands to bits and added a fair amount of weight overall. Looking at it, it would probably contain the explosion to some extent, it did seem rather heavy duty.

Anyway, back to topic. If you're lucky you may be able to find a supplier with one or two left over 3" ball heads, they were nice big rockets.
