Due to extreme hot weather the Chinese Government has suspended production of fireworks and firecrackers in Hunan, Jiangxi and Guangxi until August 27th – 40 degrees in these provinces at the moment.

Manufacturers are asking officials to review their decision with the hope to change the 30 day stoppage to 10.

Not good news for those cutting it fine with their season deliveries.

The Galaxis wireless firing system is being used to fire one of the displays taking place on Tuesday 16th August 2011 at the Plymouth British Firework Championships, Plymouth.

The system is a pretty clever and extremely reliable bit of kit that can be interfaced to control DMX devices and has capacity to repeatedly use outputs to control electronic valves or switches for applications such as CO2 jets and flames.

UK’s Galaxis agent (Mark Lewis) will be at the Hotel Mount Batten (pub adjacent to firing site) on Wednesday 17th August to promote the system; so if you are going to the Plymouth Firework Championships and have ½ an hour to spare I recommend taking a look.
