Fantastic cake, really. Only shame that we couldn't see the whole spread in the sky.

I believe that it is shown earlier in this thread. But here it is again for your viewing Fan cake video
Phew that was close.

Aha there in lies the key. There is virtually no chance of a hang fire with the way I fuse the cakes.

Rather than having an in and an out hole for the fuses I simply use an elongated hole into which both fuses are pushed, then a blob of hot glue is put over the pair (not necessary if you are concerned about what happens if a cake fails). Therefore there is no need for end priming etc as the next fuse is lit from the side fire of the first.

I will post some pics at some point in the future when I build another.

Aha, I see, so there abit like my 'Fire All' rows then ? but with an elongated hole

I may be a little late, but anyway: Great cakes! Both of them.

I was particularly fond of diggers green and red tailed stars about in the middle of the video: Is that just plain Veline red and green with 3% titanium, as you said? What mesh Ti? Great effect!

Thanks

It has been some time now since I made a cake. I had almost forgotten how pleasing they are.

Maybe one will be on the horizon in the not to distant future.

Yep just plain old veline with 20 mesh Ti sponge in it, I think I may have used 70/30 magnalium though.

Finally got round to making something that can resemble a cake, only 1 row of 10 shots though, but the fusing seems to work well :D

Very nice PGF!! What fusing method are you using? Looks good for ripid fire cakes such as Z, X etc. Try slowing the shots down. Next is to add another 1-2 rows, thats when things get hard, as you can get a flash-over...I've sorted this but can't post the details

Great stuff, and keep at it :P

I pretty much used the fusing technique described in your tutorial, fusing the tubes with blackmatch and gluing it in place with BP slurry. Right now i'm working on a 6x6 Fan cake, should be ready by the weekend. Overall i'm very happy with these cakes, they give a mighty spread in the sky.

are there not any risks involved with using plastic tubes. im assuming there must be because it looks so much simpler and cheaper than cardboard, why aren't they used more?

I may be wrong, but I think those tubes are HDPE? If they are it's fine......Great looking cake PGF, cant wait to see it in action

Yup, they are HDPE, I dare not use other plastics. I'm primarily using HDPE because these tubes are relatively cheap, strong and can be recycled, I hope to get atlest 5 shots from each one.

CCH concepts, plastic tubes are most probably not used in cakes due to the fact that, probably all, users would not return it to the manufacturer for recycling
