Hey all. Just had a nose in my local Hooty's and they have a fantastic selection of BrightStar fireworks all BOGOF. Well worth a look.

Also if there are any of you out there that have trader passes for Bestway cash and carry they are doing some great deals on Brightstar too.

Example of the Hooty range is the renowned Atomic bomb mine (twin pack) is £7.99 BOGOF

I got these :D

Just posting this as a reminder incase I forget.

I got an email from Lidl the other week to tell me that they WILL definitely be selling Weco fireworks for New Year (as expected). Nothing was mentioned about any discounts but I have a feeling that they will knock a few pounds off the products.

I will definitely be using Lidl to buy my stuff for new year as I will only be doing a small show and it should help to see in the New Year with a (loud) bang!

I had a go at Lidl last year (on behalf of UKPS) for the terrible window dressed stuff they were selling. The Weco stuff is certainly worlds better. Wonder if they took some notice of us?

Where you the one who sent the email to them and they acknowledged it? I just remember reading a topic about window dressed stuff and seeing that a poster had contacted them and they got a reply! If it was you then it might of just be you who got our Weco back in the UK :)

I wrote a letter to them from the UKPS. Got quite a positive reply - I'll look it out and post it here.

If this made a difference, I would not like to say, but these things never do any harm do they...

I had a Weco cake go bang, it blew out the side. I took it back and the stroe manger contacted headoffice there and then. He then refunded me right away +1p (£7 as to £6.99), he alos gave me free reign to a bottle of wine to the value of £5. I then just got a letter offering me 10% on there fireworks for new years, £100 voucer for anything instore inc fireworks, and an appology.

Not bad huh

Good news that they will use Weco again

Woww that is brilliant compensation for that. Im not completely sure but wouldn't it usually be a replacement with maybe a free one thrown in?

Hope you use your 10% discount for new year fireworks, sure it was just a one off :)

Also, it would be good if you could write back to them Phil! I know when I emailed them asking about fireworks for new year I commented on how I thaught the range was a LOT better this year and that the fireworks were brilliant value for money. On the reply they stated that they were really happy that I had enjoyed their fireworks and were happy that I liked the selection available! If a few of us let them know how much better their stuff was compared to other years they may start to use weco as a permanent supplier in the future.

I think it's very important that we feedback to all suppliers if we don't like their range - or unusually if we do!

Retailers do respond to feedback. Also, if the general public (who don't know the technicalities) keep on getting poor fireworks, they will think all fireworks are poor and won't buy anything next time...
