The route you takes really depends on your circumstances. If you are going to mix up small amounts of comps and use pretty soon after, then F.O.S is OK. If you dont mind the 'pain in the bum' job of milling sulphur chips that is the best route to take. Personally i hate doing this.

What i did a few years ago, when money was tight, was to buy 2kg of F.O.S for a couple of quid, and wash it, to get rid of the sulphuric acid. It doesnt get rid of all of it, but it will get rid of most of it, and it does leave you with perfectly usable sulphur, for peanuts.

Just chuck it in a bucket, add warm water, a little bicarb of soda, give it a good stir, leave to stand for 30mins, pour out water and rinse thoroughly, job done. I had to use distilled water coz i live in a hard water area and this tends not to work too well.

I still have some left today, and is used regularly, with satisfactory results.

I love it, the chips mean no dust, spills or nasty after smells when weighing. I weigh the chips and granular charcoal out and then mill them together for two hours, then add the KNO3 for another hour, I get real nice meal every time.

I personally think making bp with fine chemicals is a bit of a lost cause, as your going to mill them anyway; unless your making it using the CIA method etc.

Even then you have to mill your charcoal and sulfur together :) Due to my small capacity ball mill I just have to "pre-mill" my charcoal before ):
Sulfur I get finely powdered.

Thats the problem i had....my ball mill was tiny, so milled everything separately. Results were acceptable tho. Now my mill is dead, so its back to pestel and mortar for the time being...what a chore :(

I’m still trying to sell on loads of stuff I have excess from my own ventures to pay for more things I want so I’ve put a page for it all on my site.

I try to pay for my stuff by buying in bulk and off loading the majority of it to others who want it cheap too so I’m sure someone wants the stuff I have too much of.

I’ve sold quite a bit of stuff already to members. It would be greatly appreciated if you are one of those people if you could be bothered putting a note on the thread about your experience with me to give others peace of mind.

I have for sale :

1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mesh and am wanting to buy some 10, 200, 250 and 400 but the price of the last three is big so I’m wanting people who want some to let me know in advance so I can divide up the costs before ordering it.

Loads and loads of really good storage containers which I had to set up an account for so can get whatever you want. They are listed on the page under storage.

Iron Oxide

50/50 MAGNALIUM

Magnesium blocks

Sulphur

50mm mortar tubes (with suitable plastic jars for shell use)

Rollers for ball mills

Lead milling media

If you want to have a look at the site feel free and drop me an email with any comments. I apologise if it isn’t complete as its work in progress but Im trying to get it a bit further.

There are loads of other chemicals that will probably be added at some point so if there’s anything you want then please ask and Ill say if I can get it.

I have sourced the following chemicals and some of each are on their way to me as we speak:

Barium carbonate
Bentonite
Borax
Borax frit
Copper Oxide
Copper carbonate
Iron oxide red
Iron oxide black
Iron oxide yellow
Iron oxide (spangles)
Lithium carbonate
Manganese dioxide
Sodium silacate
Strontium carbonate
Zinc Oxide

I’ve sourced these too but haven’t ordered any yet: (mostly because I’m not sure of their uses)

Antimony oxide
Chromium oxide
Cobalt carbonate
Cobalt oxide
Cryolite
Lead bisilicate
Magnesium carbonate
Manganese carbonate
Nickel oxide
Tin oxide
Titanium Dioxide
Vanadium pentoxide
Zirconium carbonate
Zirconium silicate

I’m also waiting on prices on the following metal powders and flakes

Atomised Aluminium
Flake Aluminium
Aluminium Oxide Powder
Cobalt Powder
Copper Powder Irregular
Copper Powder Spherical
Copper Flake
Iron Powder (Sponge) 300 100
Stainless Steel Powder
Stainless Steel Flake
Tungsten Powder
Zinc Powder

The page with all my stuff for sale is : For Sale

Hope something is of use to someone.

Hello guys!

Any new experiences with Keten Organics from Poland? Some time ago I firmly decided to order some chems from them but other priorities popped up and I never placed it...

I payed Keten 24. 03 for some chems. I then asked him when he was going to ship.
His mail to me dates back to 13.04. when he said the parcel had been sent. (3 weeks, quick fellow, heh?)
I then asked for the trackingnumber selveral times, but he has not responded to any of my mails...
I don`t think i`m going to order any more from him.

I know what you mean! But, I ordered from him with no problems, and we frequently chat over e-mail. IMHO, he is a good guy and will remain my chief supplier, especially considering all his products...! In fact i may be placing another order soon!

Regards,

Mike
