Sodium Salycilate isn't a hazardous chemical, and therefore it can be shipped quite easily overseas (hint!)

If someone here has got a good source of NaC7H5O3 in Europe, you know where to find me... :)

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me what the delivery times are like from garden direct, i'm only ordering 500g of kno3 to keep me going till i order 25Kg. The website says allow delivery time of 21 days. Just want to know if it will really take this long.

Took 2 days for my 25kg, but it was sent by courier. Doubt that it will be more than about 5-8 working days.

Well i decided to order 2Kg, as it just seemed pointless to order 500g. Just have to wait and see now.

It will take only a couple of days for 2kgs! Thats what i usually order!
BUT!!!!!!!!
Be warned their courier company is abit dodgy!
I phone up a week after i ordered some KN03 because i hadnt recieved it and so GD contacted their courier service...and to cut a long story short...... The courier serverice told GD that it had been signed for by someone from my family, when actually it had been left hidden by my back door! the courier service had signed for it in my familys name! NO letter to say it had been put in the back garden! NOTHING!
And the lady at GD said that they had had a few parcels go missing that week! So just look out!
But this was the 1st problem i had had with GD!
LOL last time they left it with the neighbours without telling me!

I dont know what size chemicals forums members buy in ...the larger the amount the cheaper it gets...I have been shopping around and i have a few prices for basic colours red and greens..

Eg Ba(NO3)2 25 kilo ?130 . SrNO3 ?200 25 kilo..

From this thread a few members have bought 25 kilo of KNO3.. which last time i bought some cost about ?30

Do these prices sound cheap or expensive ?..i have noticed every time i spend money i always find someone saying you paid to much  ...
Also i found the price of Green chinese visco in the UK
Thin Visco ?3 for 50 metres(150foot!) Thick 3mm ?6 for 50 metres One of the most important aspects of making any safe firework is the fusing....and look how cheap it is...Aint life abitch!!..not found anyone to supply me some yet tho... B)

Any member got good prices for Parlon and PVC?..

If it doesnt work out, im gonna try making my own visco machine. Plan is to use blackmatch, fed into three cotton winder stages, then painted in varnish. probably wont work but i want to try anyway :P

You just need a thread or two going through the feeder to pick up some BP and then wrap fine threads around it.
This looks mighty complicated

I think the main obstacle here is Cash (Unless you're imployed)
I have to bag to my dad to fund some of my pyro stupidities (As he calls it)

I buy my colouring nitrates from a lab supplier in small amounts, as I use hardly any
Ba(NO3)2 works out at ?14/kg, and Sr(NO3)2 at ?35/kg.

Am I being ripped off ?
almost certanly, but I have used less than half a kilo of each in about three years, so am prepared to pay a high price for it! They are of a guaranteed purity, but when you buy small it is incredable how much more it costs!

Sasman, what else have you been shopping around for?

i only need a small amount for various colour comps i'd like to try
